| ALBERTO CERQUI IS THIRD OF THE ROOKIES IN HIS FIRST SEASON IN PORSCHE MOBIL 1 SUPERCUP | |
| 02.11.2018 - A third place in the APP-TECH Rookie classification dedicated to the drivers making their debut in the category has ended Alberto Cerqui's first complete season in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2018.
The driver from Brescia has therefore successfully reached the end of a very intense year that saw him defend the colors of Team Dinamic Motorsport at the wheel of one of the most iconic racing cars of all times, the Porsche 911 GT3, in one of the most famous and followed single-make series in the world. This sporting adventure has seen Cerqui on track in some of the most spectacular racetracks in the world like Monza, Barcelona, Spa-Francorchamps and the legendary street circuit of Monaco that definitely is the dream of each racing driver. Cerqui did not betray expectations and proved all his value in a difficult and technical championship like the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, building his feeling with the car race by race, thanks also to a constant work done during the racing weekends and testing sessions. This approach allowed him to end all the races without DNFs, scoring three podiums, and completing six of the ten races within the points, for a total score of 32 points. These results rewarded his commitment and allowed him to end third of the rookies and second among the Italian drivers in the overall classification. Alberto Cerqui: "This has been quite an exciting season. Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is a highly competitive series that has seen drivers of the likes of Stéphane Ortelli and Emmanuel Collard on track. These drivers have been very successful with GT and Prototype cars in endurance races. The level is very high and competing as support series of F1 Grand Prixes is very special. The support of a lot of fans has been crucial to push hard all the time, even when, especially early on, we had some difficulties. Getting on the rookies podium has been a good satisfaction for me and for my partners, which gave me a good push forward to season 2019".
