ALBERTO CERQUI AMONG THE PROTAGONISTS OF MONZA'S ROUND OF THE PORSCHE MOBIL 1 SUPERCUP

01/09/2015 - A new and prestigious challenge awaits Alberto Cerqui, who will make his debut in the prestigious Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Next weekend he will be competing in fact in Monza at the wheel of the number 60 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup lined up by Centro Porsche Brescia and run by team Antonelli Motorsport.

The driver from Brescia already has a good knowledge of the Stuttgart's car with which he run the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia back in 2013. This will be his first race in the Supercup though, series that shares the stage with Formula One and therefore is always followed by big crowds especially on Sunday as race two takes place just a few hours before the start of that of the highest motorsport series.

The level of Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has been traditionally high. Alberto Cerqui had a testing day at Mugello last week to prepare at best this appointment and worked productively with the team both on the single lap performance and on the race pace.

Alberto Cerqui:
"I cannot wait to begin this challenge in the Porsche Supercup. Racing in Monza is always exciting and doing so in the weekend of the Formula One Italian Grand Prix is going to be exceptional. I have to personally thank the President of Centro Porsche Brescia Beatrice Saottini, who gave me the chance to compete in such a special event. It is not going to be easy as rivals are top class, but in the test the feeling with the car has been good and we have what it takes to do good things".

The racing weekend will kick off on Friday with free practice scheduled from local 16:45 to 17:30, while qualifying will take place on Saturday from 12:25 to 12:55. Race one will follow at 18:15, while race-2 will get green flags on Sunday at 11:45. All sessions will be covered live by Sky Sport Formula 1 HD.
