PORTIMAO, PREVIEW: ALBERTO CERQUI HUNTING FOR THE FIRST PODIUM AS OFFICIAL BMW DRIVER

18/05/2011 - Just two days are left before the third round of the Superstars Series, valid for the International series only, scheduled from Friday on in Portimao (Portugal).

Alberto Cerqui, the young talent of BMW Team Italy, will make his debut on a very demanding track where BMW M3 proved to be competitive last year. The Italian driver was close to the pace of his team mate and reigning champion Thomas Biagi in several occasions two weeks ago in Valencia confirming therefore the quality to grow within an official team under the supervision of Roberto Ravaglia and Umberto Grano.

Alberto Cerqui:
"Since I do not know the circuit I tried to learn it by watching in TV the recording of last year's races. There are quite a few driven parts where I can give my best as the car does: if I manage to exploit Friday test to find out the critic points of the track, I should have the chance of doing good things and perhaps of getting the first podium as BMW driver".
