UNKNOWN DONINGTON FOR AN OPTIMIST ALBERTO CERQUI |
|
14/06/2011 - The Superstars Series is heading to United Kingdom for the fifth round of the season, scheduled for this weekend at Donington Park's circuit and valid for the International classification only.
The young Alberto Cerqui is unquestionably one of the stars of the championship despite this being his debut season at the wheel of a closed-wheel car with races often held of circuits where, as in this case, he has never raced before.
The Italian driver of BMW Team Italy will have only 10kg sportive ballast on board his BMW M3 as opposite to the 50kg he recently had on board in Misano's race two therefore he will only marginally be affected by the additional weight imposed by the regulations according to the results obtained on the demanding up and down-hills of the British track.
Weather forecasts talk about typical British weather with showers alternated to clear sky and temperatures ranging from eight to seventeen Celsius degrees.
Alberto Cerqui:
"It is not going to be easy to learn a circuit full of pitfalls like Donington but as usual I will count on the huge experience of Roberto Ravaglia and my team mates. I believe we can do good things anyway: the features of this circuit suit on paper our BMW M3 and should everything go according to the plan, this might be the first chance to fight for my first victory of the season.
Our team will also be racing in Brno during the weekend in the FIA WTCC therefore in the spare time I will support Tom Coronel in front of the TV".
